A Festivus Miracle.

Last night set all sorts of sleep records when Darren slept 5 hours IN A ROW. Gary and I were so refreshed, we felt like we could run a marathon - theoretically of course.

Karen came to visit all the way from Dallas so I decided to tell her a secret. I'd also like to give a shout out to Jackie who checks the blog twice a day.

Hello Hilton Head.

Darren took his first road trip to Hilton Head over July 4. He really enjoyed his welcome sign and new leisure suit.

Ugly cakes rule.

Darren celebrates being three weeks old with one of Lori's famous ugly cakes. He cried with fright during the two seconds he could focus on it.

Let's do brunch.

Darren met his first friend Ryan in the hospital. Today, Ryan invited Darren over for some bagels, eggs and poop-off.

Darren stinks no more.

All of Darren's parts healed and he finally enjoyed (and I use this word loosely) his first bath. While the experience wasn't all that great for anyone involved, all parties were happy with the end result.

After Darren's arrival, the Spano animals soon realized life would never be the same. They now have a whole other person to lick. Life is good.

In the first week of Darren's life, he has enjoyed many, many visitors from all over the country. Life is pretty good for the little guy.
